    Hi,

I am trying to save audio from avi file as wav in full processing mode with VirtualDubMod.

As I click "Save wav", I get error mesage: "No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format"

This probably means the proper audio codec is not installed but once I open the avi file in AVICodec, it shows: "Audio: 47 MB, 58 Kbps, 32000 Hz, 1 channels, 0x55=Mpeg-1 audio Layer 3 (MP3), Supported" which means all required codecs are installed.

What is the problem here? Thank you.

Either your mp3 ACM decoder is broken or there was a problem with VDub where certain headers would cause the above error. Wouldn't have thought it would have effected the latest version. On the offical forum there should be some posts on it, including how to fix the header via HEX editing. Otherwise just use something else to decode.

    Hi,

Thank you, guys. The problem is that all the stuff is very much unfamiliar to me. But it looks like I have found the way out.

I've been using ImTOO MPEG Encoder for a while and must say it is a good thing.

I tried to demux and convert the audio from the AVI with its help and I believe it worked. I set up WAV as a target and I get "moviename.wav" file with the size of 1.11 GB.

Based on the volume it must be uncompressed WAV.

What would be your opinion? Thank you.

P.S. The file information provided by the same program:

    - Format: pcm_s16le
    - Bit rate: 1411kbps
    - Sample rate: 44100Hz
    - Channels: Stereo

Use GSpot to tell you what encoding is used in a media file.

Also note your sample rate is 44,100. You have to convert that to 48000 if you're making DVD video.

GSpot shows it's wav file and the info: Codec PCM audio; 48000Hz 80 kb/s total (2 chnls).
