    Is it possible to set chapters in avi or mpg full length movies?
    One thing I hate is to load the cd/dvd and not able to get to a point
    got to watch the whole movie or restart again

    avi or mpg containers doesn't support any chapters. You need to make for example a dvd-video or use another container like mp4,mkv(but you would need a player that support chapters also).

    Ah! Is mp4 extension mostly handled by quicktime player?

    standalone dvd player? i haven't seen any such with support for mp4 with chapters.

    There is the Divx format, however you need a Divx Ultra certified player, not just standard Divx certified, and you then need to author with something like DivxBuilder.

    By JB's do you mean JB HiFi ? If so, most of the players refer to mp4 erroneously, as they really mean mpeg4 variants such as Divx/Xvid and very occasionally WMV.
