    Hi there people.

I'm trying to convert a SECAM VHS and an NTSC VHS into DVD.
I live in Europe and I've a Panasonic combo DVD recorder (VHS+DVD) and a few VCR that can play NTSC on PAL TV but NOT SECAM.

    1) I tried to convert the NTSC VHS directly into my Standalone recorder combo of Panasonic.
What I get is the correct image but with around 4cm of lines on the under part of the screen.
I need to cut this part out.
It's like my combo can't play NTSC VHS correctly.

    2) So..I tried to connect another VCR to the TV, the VHS plays fine this way. I connected the TV to the combo with a SCART cable, but the recording on the combo show me still these lines.
Seems like the VCR plays fine the NTSC on PAL TV, but my combo transfer the signal from TV on PAL (but the original signal from TV it's probably NTSC?)

    3) I though about buy a VCR that can play SECAM, they aren't expensive. But I will have the same problem as NTSC?

    4) What's about if I buy a capture card into my PC that can record PAL/NTSC/SECAM? wich one is better for this work and wich capture software?

    Thanks in advance
    Chris

I would expect you could use a SECAM player and feed the output into you DVD Recorder.
