    Hey all.....

I've got an AIWA MX100 digital system converter. It's Beautiful VCR..Anything in, anything out...Fantastic unit..I've got it hooked up to an ADS Pyro A/V link (DV converter), and capturing into Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. Monitoring is on a broadast monitor with the same ADS unit.

AS I'm catpuring the VCR tape, it seems to be jumping between PAL and ME SECAM. That's fine, but the ME SECAM is giving me black and white output. It's quite annoying ...
I'm taking a guess, that it's more of a tracking issue, then a capture issue..It seems that the auto track kicks in and wants to put it back into PAL.
Has this happened to anybody, or should i be stabbing it with a PAL only deck?? Therefore forcing PAL playback only...
    I'm quite puzzled.

    Thanx...

Does the VCR auto-switch format input modes? I can set my Samsung to only play a certain format, it does not need to be put in auto-detect mode.

    Hey lordsmurf, thanx.....

Yeah, it's out, and i can' seem to find a way to lock it..I have a feeling that when there's an imperfection in the actuall tape, it sends a signal to the machine that interperates it as a different signal, therefore switching over to ME SECAM...

When swithcing over to ME SECAM, the picture goes to black and white. Perhaps my Pryro A/V Link cannot fix this signal, since it's only PAL/NTSC swithable..

Unfortunately, i can't seem to lock in the PAL source switch.

I've since, used a PAL only deck (thank goodness i didn't throw it away), and the resulting signal was correct. Albeit with a few extra framedrops...

Thanks smurf, glad to see you're still kicking around...
I can't tell you how much you've taught me over the last few years...
