Hi, am looking for some help in transferring vcr to pc.
I have a life view fly-tv card fitted and have succesfully transferred from 8mm camcorder to pc. I'm now trying to transfer vcr across, problem comes with what connections to use from vcr to pc, I have a scart to rgb with audio/video connections (used on sony playstation) but when this is connected I get no picture.
The software is pretty easy to use and has options for cable/satellite tv etc but picks nothing up when "AV in" selected.
I ve uploaded the connection diagram for tv card to assist anyone.

Any help is appreciated on this and apologies if any info is lacking.

    Cheers

    keith666,
from the picture you supplied (obtw, cudos for you it sure makes life easier), I think you have two options.
Option 1: you can use the composite video cables (the red, white, yellow connectors) to connect your vcr to your video input card. Most vcrs have composite "output" connectors.
    OR
Option 2: you can use the S-video route. However, there are not many vcrs that have an svideo "outpput" connector. The ones that I have seen only have an S-video input connector. But the others do exist. Hopefully, you have one of those. If not sure check you manual.

Then all that is left is to:
1: set your capture software to record from the composite or S-video inputs (as applicable)
2: fire up your capture software on the pc,
3: plug in a vhs tape and
4: hit play on the vcr then record on the pc capture software or record on the capture software then play on the vcr.

Hopefully, you will have achieved success.

I'm assuming your RGB is the three cable output with red, green and blue jacks? If so, no that won't work with your video card. As edsmith77, said though, you should have a composite output (Normally yellow) along with your regular stereo audio (Red and white) outputs.

I'm not too familiar with SCART, but maybe you need a different adapter.

    And welcome to our forums.
