I'm facing a problem with tmpgenc. I export my movies in Premiere 5.1 with canopus dvraptor dv codec to an aviformat. It has a fixed framesize 768 x 576. On television (PAL) the movies look superb. Recently a friend asked me to encode a few movies to mpeg1 for use on a cdrom. I did that with tmpgenc and the quality is really good. The only problem is that the mpegmovies are stretched vertically, when played on a computerscreen (17"with windowsmediaplayer. It probably has to do with framesize. I tried every possible setting, but I can't resolve the problem. What am i doing wrong? Who can help me out?

If you're encoding a PAL VCD, it will be squished horizontally when viewed in a square pixel aspect ratio. You can either encode your video with a 4:3 non-VCD frame size like 384x288 or use a player like Sasami2k that supports custom aspect ratios:
