  1. Hello everyone,

This post is in regards to the first attempt on my logo modification.

I'm trying to get a color printout close to 36 x 24 without being distorted. Kinko looked at it and stated it has to be an EPS (vector file), would anyone be able to convert it to EPS?

    Thanks
    Blue,

    Is the 36 x 24...36 inches x 24 inches?

What is the size of the original you are trying to get printed to that large of a size ?

Because if it's a small or lower res photo you are going to get crappy results no matter what blowing it up that large and printing it.

That's why they need it in vector.

You can't convert to vector. It has to be totally remade in vector format (is not an image per se, its a path that instructs the program to draw the lines along that path...so you can adjust size and it has no effect on quality). I looked at your logo and its very simple so it should not be a big deal to recreate it in vector. I'll give it a look tonight. It'd be easier though if you could tell me what fonts were used to make this.

    Sounds good.

I don't know the font size. It was created by a friend of mines son. He's gone back to college. And it's next to impossible to reach him.

Here is the eps file, zipped. When you open it in Photoshop it prompts you for the resolution and DPI. You can make it as big as you want and the quality remains the same.

I'm trying to use Adobe Image Ready & Adobe Photoshop to open the file from my Desktop, but it's not finding the file.

When I double click on the file, it opens in Adobe Photoshop with the error:

Could not open because it's not the right kind of document

I rarred it to make it smaller. You need to unrar the file using either WinRar or WinZip. Both programs have free trials.

    Adam,

Having issues opening the file with WinZip. Tried downloading WinRar, but you have to pay a registration fee.

WinRar only requires registration for advanced features. Just install it, right click on the rar file and select unrar. Its free.

I went ahead and just uploaded the unrarred file here:

    Hello Adam

Just really noticed the image, it has an 'I' in the middle of the W W when it should be '&'.

I have a jpeg logo I’m trying to modify. It has a ‘J’ overlapping two W’s and I want to replace the ‘J’ with and ‘I’. Can anyone explain how I can do this, or do it for me?
I'm confused. Now you want it to be an "&" ?

    Bluemoss,

I certainly hope you've offered Adam something for all his work (or at least to donate to his favorite charity).

I paid a good friend of mine $75 for her work on a logo I wanted and it wasn't even for a business; just for a bit of fun for my personal webpages and home DVDs.

Sorry about that Adam, I don't know why I thought I mentioned the '&' sign instead of the 'I'. I thought the path I uploaded had the '&' sign on the image? If your, tired and don't want to mess around with this any longer, I understand.

    btyeguy,
Sorry you had to pay for your image, but if Adam wanted to charge a fee, I think he would have mentioned it to me. I had no intention of continuing to bother Adam in this regard, but I did send it out originally to the forum as a whole, for anyone to respond or not respond.

I changed it to an & and updated the file on my server so you can just use the link posted above.

And by the way, the bill is in the mail.
