  1. what's the advantage/disadvantage or using either one?

i used to use dvdfab + anydvd + nero recode to rip/shrink/burn dvds. but i came accross this one dvd that nero recode couldn't shrink properly. so i tried dvdshrink and used nero to burn it.

also, would it be better to uses anydvd+dvd decrypter or anydvd+dvdfab? i've seen movies that dvdfab couldn't rip, and dvd decrypter had no problems with. i've also seen some that dvd decrypter had problems with but dvdfab had none.

I use ripit4me, which beats all protection, and loads the ripped disc into Shrink ready to go, if you want. It uses DVD Decrypter to rip, and creates a PSL file so Decrypter can beat the structure protection if necessary. Because it does this on the fly, you don't have to keep downloading new versions like you do for DVD Fab Decrypter or AnyDVD.

I usually use DVD Rebuilder Pro to change or reduce the size for single disc burning.

I like AnyDVD because it has other useful features, like stopping audio CD protection from installing, however I would not install DVD Fab Decrypter again. I found it clunky, brutish, and not worth my time.

I've used DVD Shrink for several years to backup my DVDs. If shrink can't decrypt, then I use DVD Fab Decrypter first. I never really needed anything else.

I now use ImgBurn to burn the Shrink conversions. I prefer freeware solutions whenever available. I still use DVD Decrypter, but not so much for burning.
