  1. I have this Philips DVP 5960, and a maxtor 300 Gb. It's all nice, but when the time is coming to browse movies it's a nigthmare.

First I don't like the fonts, they are away too big and you only can see a few.

Anyway, how do you organize folders having your movies nice ?

  2. I was thinking to make an alphabetical index, and sort out all my movies by letters.
I can make directories from A to Z and add there my movies.
the other bad convinience is if a movie start like "The Wild" I might thinking to look in W folder and not T folder.

    Any ideas ?

Alas it seems the 5960 does not show the dirs and files alphabetically, instead it seems it shows them in sequence of when they were saved on disk.

So, I have numbered all my files in the sequence in which they have been saved on the disk. I have a list at hand (a spreadsheet, alphbetically sorted) and now all I have to do is key in the number on the remote and I instantly am at the right file. No need to browse through that long list that shows only 4 entries at a time anymore. If you use subdirectories keep in mind that the directory itself is number 1 and the first file in it is number 2.

    Success.

Women comes at the doctor's and states her complaint. "Doctor, I can't keep my legs apart anymore". Doctor says: "Then you got to number them".

  4. Thanks for the tip, I will try with numbers . Hmm interesting, I didn't know about the numbers and you can select a file by typing the coresponding number.

    thanks
