    Hi Guys,

    First post!

I have a Philips DVP5960 DVD player and I have recently purchased a Toshiba PX1223E-1G32 320GB 3.5" External USB Hard Drive.

I did a quick format to FAT32 using swissknife. I then transferred an .avi on to the drive and everything appeared ok within explorer, just the avi and the sytem information folder. I then plugged in to the dvd players usb port, powered up the drive before swithching on the player and what i got onscreen was about 50 folders named &^_-$RR_ and all sorts of other random nonsense.

I then plugged the drive back into my PC to discover that these files take up 298GB of the 300GB i have available.

Am i doing the format correctly, it only took 10 seconds max?

Or do I need to format in another way?

    Thanks In advance

    Rob
