i captured a video with an adaptec capture card and in mpg format (not sure what layer tho). i tried using nero to edit out the portion i don't want, but i couldn't edit it to the second.. i tried using virtualdubmod.. in the edit screen (or whatever it's called), i can edit by frames (and even to the point second), but it doesn't seem close enough. i'm not a pro, but i would really like to edit it to the point second.. my problem is, i have no clue how to work this program. are there any freeware programs that allows you to edit to the point second?

Womble Mpeg VCR or VideoRedo. Virtualdubmod can do it, but you have to be in full processing mode, and you have to re-encode the whole thing afterwards.

can someone give me a simple walk-thru bc i tried many times without success. i have no clue how it work.. i want to cut out some parts on both ends of the video. whoever was holding the camcorder started recording before they were supposed to and didn't stop it when it was done so there were a lot of blank scenes or just recording of the ground.. thanks!
