    I have another question:

We have several home made movies taken on our Camcorder on VHS HS tapes. Is there a way to convert this and burn them onto DVD? Our DVD player is not a recorder. Our PC DVD burner is LG.

  2. You can send them to store for conversion. In U.S., there are Ritz camera, Circuit City, and .... It runs about $10.00 per tape.

    Or

You can buy a DVD recorder, it also serves the purpose of recording TV program like Queen's Birthday Parade.

Or you can get a capture card for the computer and then author your dvd on the pc and burn the dvd with your burner. There are tons of choices out there too Hauppuage pvr 250 and 350 series come highly recommended here. I have the fusion hdtv gold t 3 personally and really like it.

of course the easiest way to get an instant dvd is to buy a settop dvd recorder like singsing mentioned. You hook up your vcr or camcorder to the dvd recorder and pop in a blank dvd recorder. Hit record on the recorder and play on the vcr/camcorder and your done once it finishes playing. Easy and simple. Though if you want fancy menus and more editing options you can copy the dvd from the recorder to the pc and reauthor it.

    Agreed.

I used to be big into VHS capture using a PC - now it's just so much easier and quicker with a DVD recorder.
