    Hi all,

I suppose that these things has been explained over and over again but I haven't been able to find an answer yet.

    1st question:
    Under Video tab: Encode mode
Under Advanced tab: Video source type

What I should use if I have divx encoded by somebody else (I don't know if it's interlaced or not) and I want to encode it to SVCD? Which one is usually used: interlaced or non-interlaced? (I don't know how these are different from each other ...) Are these two options the same thing (if I use non-interlaced in other I should be using it in other too ...)?

    2nd question:
Under Advanced tab: Source aspect ratio

Should I use 1:1 (VGA) if my source doesn't have a standard resolution? (that divx is 512*217 or something like that) What should I use as a setting if I have for example PAL video and want to play it on my 16:9 TV ... [16:9 625 line (PAL)]? I have always used this 1:1 because I don't see the difference between these settings.

Does anyone know a webpage where these things are explained? 'TMPGEnc explained' in these webpages are not clearly enough explained =)

    Thanks in advance!

If you are converting to a PAL format, then you can set it to non-interlaced.

If you set the source aspect ratio to 1:1, you are creating a 1:1 copy of the video aspect ratio. If the movie is anamorphic, then you will have a problem on a 4:3 TV set, as the image will be streched vertically. Because you are using a 16:9 TV, you should have no problems, cause your TV will strech the image back vertically, hence the aspect ratio will be correct.
