Hi and thank you in advance for your attention.

I've been collecting movies from the Net for personal use and converting them to DVD format with subtitles and the results have satisfied me most of the times. I use the VirtualDub/Subtitler/Frame server > TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 method, and now I just want to make sure about the input settings in TMPGEnc. In "Expert settings for source", there are some options. Maybe by mistake, I've always changed that setting to "4:3 525 line (NTSC)" since that's what I want for the output (wrong guessing, I think) but most of the times it initially appears with the "1:1 (VGA)" option selected. Of course, I always choose "Full screen (keep aspect ratio 2)" for the output file's aspect ratio, but I just want to know how those input settings affect the final result (tried searching first, but still not clear to me). Thank you again!

  2. Most AVI files you download will have square pixels. The correct source setting to use in TMPGEnc Plus is 1:1 VGA.
