    I just installed new v. r5 which requested an upgrade on all 3 components. The download link for mpeg2enc is a document file with size of 188kb. Where is the binary?

    The download link for the new mpeg2enc is a file of ~492 KB (501480 bytes).
    The old mpeg2enc was ~188 KB (188524 bytes).

    After I control- click I did get the larger file. But it downloads a text file. Is this correct?

    The text file thingy is Safari behaviour. It wouldn't happen with Firefox. But the installer doesn't care about the filename extension. If the file is right, it will install in /Library/Application Support/ffmpegX/mpeg2enc as Unix Executable File.
