recently, i changed my burner to a Lite On DVD burner. every since i've made the change i just can not get dvd movies burn. I can get dvd iso's burn but not movies. I'm using Nero. I know with nero, you normally pick the dvd videos section in the wizard and choose the ISO tab and uncheck all those settings that are checked and you're good but the dvd still ain't playing. I have an old Toshiba dvd player. Obviously the dvd is playin on the pc. So i know its working. Please someone help me[/quote]

What happens if you take the video_ts folder you have created, turn it into an ISO using imgtools classic, and burn the ISO ?

If this works, then your DVD structure is fine, and the problem is Nero. If it doesn't work, then the DVD structure is wrong, and your testing is suspect.

but it cann't be the dvd structure if it recognizes it on pc as a dvd video. When i put it in after its burn, my power dvd automatically plays it.

PCs can do things a little more flexibly than a DVD player can. You can play back just VOB files with PowerDVD - most DVD players cannot do this.

But it is up to you. Your testing method hasn't given you any answers. Maybe mine will.

The only 2 things I can think of that might casue it to read automatically on PowerDVD and not on your player is that Nero is not closing the disk and/or is not setting the booktype.

what? you lost me there. Can you elaborate on that. I think i know the problem with nero. I have to put it in the joilet setting which i'm unable to set for some reason and i'm wonder if that might result in the dvd burner that i have.

There is a finalize check box under Burn that can be checked to close the disk to further writting. Bit setting or booktype can be written by some DVD burners that will change the DVD +R to DVD ROM which will make it more compatible. It has been a long time since I fooled with this stuff, so I may have the terms a little off. I don't think you need to fool with the Joilet setting. Just use the Nero wizard and all the settings should be correct.
