  2. In your burning software, select disc image - then select the iso file and burn away.

    ...Okay, I'll ask:

What burning program are you using?
What type of system are you using (OS, hardware (CPU, memory, hard drive space, and your CD/DVD burner))?
What size ISO are you trying to burn? To a blank CD, or a blank DVD?

Is having an autorun file on the disc image important? Not all CDs and DVDs have one (and likewise, the disc images).

The autorun.inf file is what makes the CD (or DVD) "do something" on insert (provided autorun is still enabled on your CD or DVD-ROM). It is in no way relevant to the burning process, and is not required at all - just an easier way to access the intended start point on the disc without having to hunt for the files manually.

"that doesn't work" doesn't really help anyone. I can't see your screen from here, and I don't think anyone else can either. So you might need to give us a little leg up and tell us what program you're using for burning, what error message you get, maybe how you created the iso file, and why you're enquiring about an autorun file ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

Your burning software will usually let you know immediately if there is any kind of problem. ISO readers like ISOBuster, WinISO and Ultra ISO can detect problems too.
