I have a movie in .BIN/.CUE form which plays in VLC ok. (I presume this is a VCD format video). I'd like to author a VCD from these two files to play in a standalone player.

Can this be done using ffmpegx? If not, is there an alternative?

Use a burning program that supports bin/cue disc images (like Toast?) to burn it to a CD. You shouldn't need ffmpegx for the process.

Firestarter used to be my preferred burner for bin/cue pairs. But I think recent versions of Toast have better bin/cue support than they used to.

MMT-EZ will also burn bin/cue files (Advanced Options).
