Hi Folks,
I hope that somebody can help me with this problem.
Until a few days ago I was using WINDV to transfer video from my Sony TRV355E Digital 8 Camcorder to my PC but now, suddenly, the preview screen has stopped working.
I have used this program for quite awhile and have never had any problems with it. I cannot think of anything I did to my PC before the preview stopped working. It still recognises the camera and still transfers the data onto my PC. THe problem with this is that I have to squint at the Camcorder screen to see where it is up to.
The preview in other programs such as Pinnacle Studio 9 still works.
I reloaded the program ( not much to reload really) but still no joy.
Any suggestions please. What is it that generates the preview, a codec or such?
Many thanks
Techno

Can you see the preview monitor in Windows Movie Maker? Like WinDV it uses DirectShow and the MS DV codec to create the preview.
Did you try to reinstall WinDV?Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

For edDV
Yes I can see the preview in Windows Movie Maker capture wizard.
I did reload WINDV but all that is involved is transfering the .exe file, from my storage disc, to the directory folder. It over wrote the existing file.
