    Is the Nec 3550A able to burn both DVD+ and DVD- media? Thanks.

    Here's a better question......
    Does anyone even make a burner that does NOT burn both "-" & "+" or DL media anymore

    Every NEC burner i've had burns both. I just put a new 3550A in my daughters pc about a week ago but i never tried - in it yet just +, although i'm sure it does

    Yes. You will find most drives available today even in the bargain bin are capable of burning both formats.
