Hi There,
I am looking for a Standalone DVD-R Recorder that will record a Pal Signal that I plug into it.
Is there a recorder sold in North America that I can switch to Pal Mode?
(My Pioneer DVR-7000 is NTSC format only)
Any advice would be really appreciated.. Thanks,
Peter

I read that you may be able to trick it
When you try to record a pal signal, it will tell you 'wrong signal'
So you unplug the signal and set it on record/pause
Then plug in your already running pal signal -
Daytek/Philips/Curtis /RJ tech will all let you change the setting to record in pal.
Indeed the daytek/rj tech/curtis ones will let you input Pal and still output ntsc so you can see what you are doing, they work on the basis of whats input, as a recording system not what is set as output.PAL/NTSC problem solver.
USED TO BE A UK Equipment owner., NOW FINISHED WITH VHS CONVERSIONS-THANKS -
As said before...there are quite a few that will record a true PAL signal (my old Philips DVDR985 for starters). I don't recommend a Philips BUT the feature you are looking for is now more common than when I bought my Philips four years ago.
