  1. I've had a drive go tits up on me and need some assistance..
(yes, I want to get what's on it off...)

If you have a Western Digital 200gb drive..

    Model: WD2000JB-00DUA0
    Mfg Date: Jan 2003-Sept 2003
    DCM: DSBHCAJAH

    PCB info: 2060-001160-001 Rev.A
(on the back of the drive)

Please PM me and let me try to buy the drive from you I'm 99% sure that all I need is a new PCB board and it will have to be close to that info to work.

  3. Been there. Done that. None of them give the 'fine' model number (-00DUA0), nor the DCM, nor the Mfg Date, nor the PCB number.

When my PCB fried I managed to get it working again by finding a matching model number. I ignored everything else like the DCM. I did have to desolder and re-solder the firmware chip from the broken PCB board onto the newer one though. If you can't find a perfect match you might give that a try.

Yeah, that's my last resort... so far I can't even get close (plenty of 200gb drives, but none with the right 'type' of PCB... the position of the 4th torx (the one near the spindle) is in a different place on every other one I can find... the broke one is the silver case.. all the others are black case [new style]))
