  1. I was pulling my hair out trying to join a couple of mpg2 files.
I searched this site for a definitive way, and came up empty.
I tried TMPGenc to join, but it didn't like them.
I tried DVD2AVI, but couldn't get the audio for some reason.
I tried Goldwave to merge the wav-audio files, but they were too big and repeatedly froze my system.
I used TMPGenc to demultiplex and joined just the mp2 files, but it sounded like complete shit.

I ultimately used MyDVD to make vob files out of EACH MPG, then used DVD2AVI to combine them, and re-encoded the video, as one. This DID work, but WHAT A PAIN IN THE ASS!

Another option I thought of, was to START with mpg1 files, combine them, then reencode as mpg2.

There HAS to be an easier way. It was actually easier to join the video, than the audio!
    Why is this so difficult?

  2. I use Mpeg2vcr. I works great for both both mpeg1 and mpeg2. Simple to use, no reencoding and it's very fast.

  3. I'm sure it's a good program, but it costs $250! And I can't find a trial for it anywhere that'll do mpg2.

    Any other suggestions?

  4. $250 are they whacked? I am sure everyone here who says they are using it, paid the $250. I assume there is a crack somewhere that people are using?
