I have latest version of winavi v7.6 but on my pc when I convert movie it just stays in task bar when I try to maximise to see whats going on it just flashes back to task bar, but it seems to be converting ok. I have also installed it on my laptop and it works fine there and I can maximise it ok to see how movie is doing like if i want to pause it I can but on pc I cannot as like i said it wont maximise. has anyone got any ideas what could be causing this, or do i have something missing, on my pc I am on win xp pro, and laptop its win xp home, any help would be much appreciated

WinAVI - The biggest piece of monkey crap ever
Maybe try emailing support@winavi.com - inbetween the spamming of the forums they claim that this is their support email address. Assuming you paid for the product, their support should be your first point of contact. If in doubt, Google it. -
jimmalenko yes i did pay for winavi and yes i will also e-mail them, but I just thought maybe someone here could help me as maybe its something on my pc stopping it from showing whats going on. you say its crap winavi so what would u suggest to use to convert from .avi to vobs

For projects where I want full control, TMPGEnc Plus and AVISynth to encode and TMPGEnc DVD Author to author. For quick n dirty jobs, convertxtodvd.
But there's plenty of other good dedicated softwares to handle both the encoding and authoring aspects.
One thing you might try is to right-click on it in the taskbar and go to "Restore".If in doubt, Google it. -
yes I have tried restore in task bar it looks as if its maximised but you cannot see it on desktop
