I am in a situation where I am mounting a TV/Computer monitor on a track in a medical office. The track manufacturer ran VGA, S-Video, Composite Video and stereo audio down the pipe to the monitor. THey will not let me run coaxial. I need a device that will convert standard television signal to a s-video and stereo audio. I know that a cable box will work. I also understand that an inexpensive vcr will work. The only problem is that the location is very difficult to get cable to. Of course this is a ceiling mount and nowhere to put any cable box or vcr in the ceiling. I need any and all suggestions. Thanks so much for hte help.

What inputs are on the TV/Computer monitor? I'm assuming S-video anyway. What type of TV signal do you have for a source, RF or Line level such as composite? Broadcast TV or video signal from another source? If it's RF, then you need a tuner somewhere in the system.
And welcome to our forums. -

Yes this is what I was talking about. It would be very nice if we could find something without power but I forgot about changing channels. Sounds like a good idea. Thanks for helping.

If the monitor accepts composite/s-video then the easiest solution is to get a (cheap/used?) VCR and use the tuner of it.......
I am using this for years with the (PAL) monitors I have here around.......
