Error when opening file with TMPGEnc 3.0 express

I keep getting an error when I open an video file with TMPGEnc, it says:could not open the video part of the file, only the audio part can be opened

Here is the information from Media Info:

AVI:694 MiB, 1h 9mn
1 video stream: Xvid
1 audio stream: MPEG-1 audio layer 3

First video stream

I'm trying to convert the file into Mpeg-1 video. Gone through the site but can't find any help to my problem, can anyone help me plz?

Try opening the file in g-spot 2.52beta to see what it says. You may have an older version of Xvid, or even be missing it entirely.

Btw I was wondering, will a faulty videocard cause problems when trying to convert?
