  1. I keep getting an error when I open an video file with TMPGEnc, it says:could not open the video part of the file, only the audio part can be opened

Here is the information from Media Info:

    Container and general information
    AVI:694 MiB, 1h 9mn
    1 video stream: Xvid
    1 audio stream: MPEG-1 audio layer 3

    First video stream
    1274kbps, 512*384 (4/3) at 29.97 fps, Xvid (BVOP NVOP)

    First audio stream
    114kbps, 48KHz, 2 channels, MPEG-1 Audio layer 3 (Joint stereo)

I'm trying to convert the file into Mpeg-1 video. Gone through the site but can't find any help to my problem, can anyone help me plz?

Try opening the file in g-spot 2.52beta to see what it says. You may have an older version of Xvid, or even be missing it entirely.

  3. Container

    OpenDML (AVI v2.0)
    DivX Style "packed bitstream" AVI
    Interleave: 96 ms (2.9 v.frames), preload=480
    Audio frames: Aligned on interleaves
    File Length Correct

    Does this help?

No. Use the version I specified, and post a screenshot of the output.

Btw I was wondering, will a faulty videocard cause problems when trying to convert?
