Hello -
If I try to open any divx or xvid avi, I get a message from Tmpgenc saying that either
it can't open it at all, or just the audio can be opened.
If, however, I enable the VFAPI plugin in the preferences/input plugins
the avi files open just fine, and Tmpgenc says it's using the VFAPI Dshow reader for video and audio.
Is the VFAPI reader still used? Isn't it something we played with about 6 years ago, when we wanted to
create a "project" to allow other media formats to be opened as if they were avi'?
Why isn't Tmpgenc's standard AVI plugin working?
Thanks for any assistance.

This states that the opening of Divx/Xvid avi files is handled by the Dshow Vfapi reader.
Apparently the "avi reader" must be for somethig else. DV perhaps?
It seems as if the most reliable way to get Divx / Xvid into the product is through
Avisynth / avisource.
