    I have an .avi with a .sub file. The film is Korean and the subs are both Korean and English. How can I play this with the English subtitles?

    VLC. Select the subtitles you want from Video->Subtitles Track.

    I tried but it is not highlighted to select.

    I have the .sub file in the same folder as the .avi.

    You'll probably want to visit http://divxsubtitles.net/ and download the subtitle in ".srt" format. Then you can embed it using ffmpegX.
