On authoring my first DVD I tried SpruceUp Trial as it seemed the easiest to use. Everything went ok. Except when I burned it to DVD my movie clips I had played fine But I had trouble going back and forth from or to the root/title menu after playing my movie clip(s).
So I thought I'd give DVD-Lab a shoot as I read that it was the next easiest after SpruceUp. I liked the interface and I liked that I could specifically tell it to return to the root/title menu after playing a clip. However... While I did not have the same menu problems that I had with SpruceUp on settop DVD prayers. The movies themselves would not play.
I did notice that the two authoring program multiplex differently.
With SpruceUp I get 1,048,404kb file size.
But with DVD-Lab I get 976,600kb file size.
Could the different file sizes be why the clips play perfect in SpruceUp but not with DVD-Lab?
Is there a way to use my VOBS I made in SpruceUp with DVD without it remultiplexing them? I have not found anything to allow this or is there a way in DVD-Lab to get it to multiplex to 1,048,404kb? Again I have found nothing.
Perhaps there is a way using IfoEdit to alter the SpruceUp menus so as to fix the return problem?
The clips were encoded with TMPGenc 2.5 plus DVD NTSC (MPEG-2 720x480 29.97fps VBR 6000kbps).
The audio was encoded to an ac3 2ch 48000Hz stereo 384Kbps.
I checked the mpg files with GSpot and it says its DVD VOB compliant.
I'd really like to use the menu and stuff I made in DVD-Lab but with the VOB's SpruceUp made or am I going to have to try yet another authoring piece of software?
This is now 4 weeks I've spent on this and am getting annoyed.
I've tried different brands of DVD to burn to.
I've tried various speeds of burning.
I've even tried different burning software.
I've even tried all the DVD's on different players and on all the players I tried, I had problem going back and forth from clip to menu when done in SpruceUp. Although the clips played fine.
And had trouble with playing the clips when done in DVD-Lab but could go back and forth to the menus no problem.
HELP am at my ropes end.
