    Hello,

I searched the forums and I tried to find reviews for this particular tool but I couldn't. Hopefully this is something that's excepted. I was wondering what is the easiest yet best as far as options and quality software program to rip my cd's into mp3 files to burn on a cd-r or cd-rw? If there's already a thread then I would appreciate a link please.

  4. I'd second CDex - make sure you put in an e-mail address so you can use the CDDB/Gracenote service for naming all your tracks automatically.

Also, if you're planning on keeping tracks on your PC for later playback, why not consider ripping to Vorbis? You'll get higher quality at the same bitrates as MP3.

EAC + LAME if you want quality. Maybe not that easy to set up, but I'm sure you can find a step by step guide somewhere.

Given that CD audio is 44100hz, what's the benefit?

Less stuffing about when encoding in batch mode in besweet to ac3 for dvd's ... as besweet can encode directly from cd's that user's have created , but not commercial cd's ...

Save's you from needing to use "force input to 48000hz" ...

Esspecially when converting 1300+ track's for next dvd project ...

Musicmatch Jukebox. An older version if you can find it. 7.5 works good for me.

Make your mind up! "best" and "quality" rarely lines up with "quick" and "simple".

ok, I don't want a complicated program. I want something that makes it easy for the user to gets songs from their cd and transfer them to their pc as mp3's. I will be using Nero to burn the music cd.

Exactly that is what Nero does in just one click. Look for Encode audio Files.

Nero is good for disc to disc copy of music CDs and for making data CDs and data DVDs but for burning your music files, it sucks.

I just backed up about 300 cassette tapes to CD and I started with Nero but after spending hours and hours of tagging all my albums and tracks only to have Nero ignore all the tags and just burning unknown artist, unknown album, track 1, track 2 etc...I decided to use a program that I was familiar with that I knew would do the job right, Musicmatch.

I also used an audio editing program called Goldwave to split all the tracks from my tapes.
There is an option in this program to batch convert files and I'm pretty sure you can save the tracks off of a CD as MP3. I've never tried it since I only like to deal with uncompressed wave files when it comes to music.
