    I guess this goes here...

I have a DVD-R recorded on a Panasonic recorder from an old VHS tape. On my bedroom TV played via my Phillips DVP-642, it plays fine with sound. When I tried playing it with my Pioneer DVR-220 recorder on the living room TV, there was no sound. So then I hooked up the DVP-642 to the living room TV, but there was still no sound. I ripped and re-authored a clip from the DVD on my PC, but there was still no sound on that TV. Both are RCA TVs with the players hooked up via RCA cables. What the heck is going on?

    Thanks!

Did you use the cable's from your player that work's ... could be that simple .

Try retuning that tv to the other dvd player , might not be tuned in correctly .

Or could be rca audio input connection on tv has malfuctioned , and require's repair ... it could be simple as the soldered joint's on the back of the rca are poor (dry connection's is what they are called in tech speak) .

Warning : High voltage area's could be near this connection inside set , not for newbies to play around with ... seek tech service .

It's just this one program, though...I will try the other cables next, though.

See if it will play a dvd in that player that you know that work's (one you know the audio was heard from) .

Could also be that player is about to flake out .

Re-read my 1st post. I tried 2 players, and other DVDs work fine.
