    Hi,

I am looking for some help. I have taken a lot of baby videos with my JVC harddisk camcorder. But they are all in MOD format. I want to do some editing and burn them onto DVD so my mom and dad can view them.

I have zero video editing experience and have no experience crerating DVDs.

Is there a simple effective program that you recommed (doesn't have to be free and I use PC with Windows XP).

    Thank you,

The software you received with your unit is just what you need. The MOD files are mpeg's ready for authoring. What i suggest is you check the cyberlink software and learn how to import them into the timeline, OR if you don't want to do any edits just use the Producer software and write what you have to DVD. If you want to watch the clips with Windows Media Player , then rename the .MOD to .MPG

    Thanks VirtualDoobMon,

Before I got your reply, I saw another post and bought:
    TMPGEnc DVD Author 2.0

I rushed to buy because it was Sunday afternoon, so I really want to get going before work started on Monday.

I managed to install it and started to try to figure out the functions... Would you recommed this software?

Also, will editing the files or writing to DVDs affect the video quality.

Are MOD files similar to MPG, or are they exactly the same? Do you recommend me to rename all MOD files to MPG ?

    Thanks,
    Casey
