I captured an avi file using windv, it is a dv-avi file.
I then used avi2dvd to create the vob files. When i load the dv-avi file, avi2dvd says that it cannot work with dv-avi file and needs to convert it to a normal one using one of 2 codecs, cedocida and panasonic.
Having installed cedocida, the resulting avi file from the conversion has no sound.
The original dv-avi file was captured as a type-1 avi.
What am i doing wrong?

Download the canopus DV convertor from the tools section and convert to type II. You might also need to install the panasonic DV codec
