    Hello,

    I've got a captured .avi-file with 704x576 (PAL) that I put into CCE SP 2.67 (+ EclCCE) to convert for DVD Authoring.

    Created AviSynth Script

    Code:
    AviSource("C:\Path\Movie.avi")
    ConvertToYUY2()
    Trim(443,159982)
    All worked fine, got audio/video-file, in synch and working, BUT the resulting .mpv video-file is now shown as 720x576 in Gspot, DGIndex and VirtualDubMod and has a black border added on the right side.

    Can anyone tell me what went wrong, as CCE does not resize - at least as far as I know. (I activated "DVD compliant" in the CCE video settings, has it got to do with that...?)

    Perhabs it simply needs to be patched - the video-file I mean?

    704 x 576 is a compliant resolution, but I suspect that ticking DVD Compliant in CCE is the cause of your grief. The general advice is to not use this flag (i.e. keep it unticked) and do any resizing required yourself. This holds for 2.70.x as well, where it has even more options in this regard.

    Wrong, CCE can resize, there is a option you can set in a ECL template :

    resize=1

    or change the encoding settings (the frame size). Hold down shift key and select "resize", a window pops up with Interpolation Types used to resize the vídeo

    704x576 will be perfectly fine for DVD, but if you want to convert it to 720x576 it is best NOT to resize but just ad a 8 pixel black border at the left and right.

    Yeap: Add 8+8 lines per side, by frameserving.

    BTW: Why you don't use 704 x 576?

    Hey there,

    thanks for the answers.
    My grief is that I WANT to use the original 704x576! I know that it is within PAL DVD specs.

    It came out of CCE 720x576 and I don't want it to...

    I will untick "DVD compliant" in CCE and see (and post back) what happens.

    Hello,

    unticking "DVD compliant" was the solution, everything all right now.

    CCE has a very good resize function built in, contact them and make sure you are using the latest version
