    Hi everyone:

Has anyone used this method? I searched in the guides and could not find it.

Anyway, I just tried it out. The result is excellent (in picture and sound qualities, file size, and processing time).

If it is OK with the forum, I will share my experience here.

    Please let me know.

    Cheers

  3. Has anyone used this method?

Many thousands of people, as it's pretty much the standard method. Although, not too many people still use SmartRipper for decrypting.

    Thanks for the replies.

guns1inger, I will go there and read more thoroughly before writing my own contribution.

manono, sorry my question was not clear enough to you. When I said "method", I meant using SmartRipper and VirtualDubMod just like I stated in the topic. If you do not use SmartRipper, then you are talking about a different method.

  5. Decrypting is decrypting. It's just that most people moved to DVDDecrypter long ago. They both give you the same files. It's what you do with them afterwards that defines your conversion method. And since you didn't give any info about how you go from Vob files to AVI using VDubMod, I'd be curious to read about it if you decide to type it out.

how you go from Vob files to AVI using VDubMod

    Hi manono:

To make my AVI, I have only one vob file which is about somewhere north of 1,048,574KB . I hope that helps you get some notion of what I did and why I posted my message.

    Cheers

If you load the VOB directly and then use VDubMod filters, then no I don't think many people do that any more. Most people I would think have switched to AVISynth.
