I have a Winfast Expert tv tuner and the picture quality is just not real good. I know it would be better to have a card with an mpeg encoder on it for burning dvds. I just want to know if there are cards out there that will give me better picture quality or if this is about as good as analog is going to get. Some channels just look a lot better than others and overall they do not look that good. Thanks!!!

If your using the inbuilt tuner ... then thats why it looks the way it dose .
Seperate the video and audio inputs will improve picture quality .
Video to capture card ... set software to vtr mode .
Audio via line-in on pc sound only .
Use a vcr to control channel switching , it's a superior tuner .
---------------------------
As for a better card for improved quality , the avermedia dvdeazy gold pci card outruns 99.999% of all others ... the only thing that beats it is the avertv usb2 unit from the same company ... 28% improvement , high dvd quality picture provided source is up to it .
Pci for around $85.00 au ... usb2 around $140.00 au ... none of the common problems associated with problematic driver issue's as found with other company device's ... it works first time , all the time ... minimum cpu mhz for high bitrate mpeg2 capture is 2gig .
Usb2 unit requires a self power usb hub that supplies 2 amp ... do not connect the usb2 capture device directly to pc ... belkin makes one that's perfect . -
So no other internal pci tv tuner would give me better quality? I guess the best solution would be a stand alone dvd recorder.
