i am freaking out here! i bought a dual layer burner about a week ago (plextor external) because some of the dvds i trade require dl's. well, i've always used nero 6 express to burn all my other dvds (5's) with no problems. (all these files are already authored on my hd with menus and all..) well, i've been trying to burn some of the ones that require dvd9's and i get this. when i play them in a computer they work fine, but when i put them in a standalone player, the menu music is there, and the disc plays fine, but the menu is gone. i've tried a few other programs and got coasters (expensive ones too), i tried all the tutorals here for using nero with the same results, someone recommended making the file into a iso then burning it with nero or dvdDecrypter. i tried it with decrypter and got a coaster! in nero rom i try to make a dvd rom/iso and it says it's too big and to use the udf mode. what the f? i'm realtively new to dvd's and don't get the techinical aspect of it that good yet. can anyone tell me a good, simple way to burn these with the menus intact? i'm starting to dislike nero very much, although it works great for dvd5 & audio cds. anyone???? -chewie-

Ist of all, Verbatin DL are so far the only proven kind of DL media.
What are you sources and how did you create them so they contain a proper layer break.
You authoring program should have created that for you.
You cannot expect Nero to create it for you. It will more than likely not work.
I cannot comment on DL homemade projects but I have found that the ONLY way I can be almost 100% sure is when I backup one of my movies. I use ISO Read and ISO write with DVD Decrypter. I have not had any experience yet producing a DL project from footage I've shot.

You may be experiencing a conflit with you layer break position. You don't really explain what it is you are trading.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!

i'm using verbatim dl's, and the dvd files were authored my someone else, i download them from trading sites, they're live concerts. i haven't even thought about authoring my own yet. i know everything in these files is correct because a lot of other people download them and don't have problems. a few people said they heard about nero issues, but that's all they know. i just want to take the files i already have and burn them on a dl and have the menus work correctly, but it has to be relatively simple. i'm still learning....
