    Hi all,

I'm a relative newbie at DVD authoring, so please bear with me

I have several AVI's that are each different Xvid episodes of a TV series. I converted them to VOB files with dvdsanta.

Now I have the following files in my VIDEO_TS folder:

    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_02_1.VOB
    VTS_03_1.VOB
    VTS_04_1.VOB
VTS_04_2.VOB (VOB 4 and 5 are over 1GB, so they were split)
    VTS_05_1.VOB
    VTS_05_2.VOB
    VTS_06_1.VOB
    VTS_07_1.VOB

I want to create IFO files for each, obviously; then I can shrink the VOB files with DVDShrink (they won't all fit as-is onto a DVD-r, I need to shrink them slightly), create a DVD menu, and then author the DVD (right?). So I downloaded IfoEdit, did the "Create IFO" thing, and that's where I started running into problems.

After doing "Create IFO" and selecting VTS_01_1.VOB, I'm left with a VIDEO_TS.IFO and BUP file, and a VTS_01_0.IFO and BUP file. But don't I need to have IFO files for the other VTS_*.VOB files? If I try doing "Create IFO" again, and select a different numbered VOB file, it just recreates VIDEO_TS.IFO and VTS_01_1.IFO, no matter what number I choose.

Can anyone give me a shove in the right direction? Thanks very much!

    Create 7 folders .

In folder 1 , place VTS_01_1.VOB (run ifoedit on this one , it's ok)
In folder 2 , place VTS_02_1.VOB (must rename to VTS_01_1.VOB first before ifoedit is used)
In folder 3 , place VTS_03_1.VOB(must rename to VTS_01_1.VOB first before ifoedit is used)
    In folder 4 , place VTS_04_1.VOB , VTS_04_2.VOB (rename like VTS_01_1.VOB , and VTS_01_2.VOB before ifoedit)
    In folder 5 , place VTS_05_1.VOB , VTS_05_2.VOB (rename like VTS_01_1.VOB , and VTS_01_2.VOB before ifoedit)
In folder 6 , place VTS_06_1.VOB (must rename to VTS_01_1.VOB first before ifoedit is used)
In folder 7 , place VTS_07_1.VOB(must rename to VTS_01_1.VOB first before ifoedit is used)

You will now get the required file's you need for each title set .

You can now open the first in dvdshrink , hit reauthor , move title to the reauthor window .
In the original dvdshrink window , open next title , and again move this to the reauthor window .
Repeat till all title's end up in correct order in the reauthor window .

Setup you requirement's , and sellect output folder , and go .

These of course would play one after the other as there is no menu involved .

Be aware : Check the audio stream's are the same format and bitrate , ie , ac3 at 128kpbs , otherwise your dvd player may not like you for long .

Check out my guide's in the guide section ... here you will find all you need on demuxing vob title's , conversion of audio , and remuxing back to vob title's with new audio , and info on dvdauthorgui , and menu's .

    And lot's more ... still coming .

Thanks for the quick and clear reply, Bjs! One last question: what about the VIDEO_TS.IFO file? Following your method, it looks like I'd get about 7 copies of those.
