    Hi,

I bought a Diamond Vision 807-03 DVDPlayer in Totonto Walmart for use in India.
My TV has no AudioVideo functionality and is a old model TV. I bought a AV to RF converter to connect the DVD player to TV. The problem is the picture is coming as black and white for all types of CD/VCD/DVD. If I connect the same player to other TV (without AV functionality), picture is coming in color. In the DVD player specs the putput is mentioned as NTSC and my TV is a PAL. Is this DVD player has built-in converter that I can hack to use for PAL TV?

Can u please help me in finding out the solution. Also please let me know how to hack Region code as my region code is different from Canada.

    Thanks
    Ramesh

A region code hack alone will not solve the B&W issue...you have a PAL/NTSC issue.

    Hi, Thanks for the reply.

So what should I do now? Do I need to buy a NTSC-PAL Converter?

    Thanks,
    Ramesh

I would first look for a setting on the DVD Player....one that converts NTSC to PAL "on the fly". Some have this function....some do not. With some it is as easy as an N/P button on the remote control....with others it may be another type of "hack" done with the remote control.
Google search the player and see what you come up with OR it may be listed here on this website on the left under the DVD Hacks/Players section in red.

If you bought the model in Canada, you are probably going to be out of luck, unless you have a television that supports NTSC inputs, and judging by how old your tv is, I would say not.

You are going to have to weigh the costs of replacing the dvd player against the price of another television, even considering a used television in good condition. I would not buy a used dvd player.

I'm curious about one thing, though. When you tested the dvd player on the other television, did you use the video inputs, or the rf connection?
