  1. I've got a DVD encoded and I'd like to remove menus completely so all that happens is that I put the DVD in the drive, and it plays the movie. Can anyone suggest a very simple and easy way to do this? Thanks!!!

  3. Oops, let me clarify a little bit. I've got a proggie that has re-encoded my Divx file to MPEG ready for DVD burning but it's thrown in this little menu with a splash screen. I'd like to simply take out that menu so when I burn it I don't have to hit play, I can simply have it play. Does that make sense? I've got all the VTS_01_0.*** files ready to go, but I'd like to extract the menu out.

    Still DVDShrink?

    Thx peeps.

  4. Okay, I've used DVDShring to re-author the files and as we speak I'm burning the DVD, but .... isn't there any easier way? The VOB file that contains the menu (called VTS_01_0.VOB) is only 56k. So I downloaded the free menuedit version but when I have it simply remove all menuing options all it does is re-create the VTS_01_0.VOB file and it's 0bytes in size. When I burn the DVD and play it the audio begins, but I get no picture (when I fast forward the DVD for half a second the video comes alive... functional, but not practical).

    Thx for the help

IFOEdit. Delete all files bar the main movie VOBs. Open IFOEdit, hit Create IFOs button, specify the first VOB and it will create a new set of BUPs and IFOs so that the movie plays as soon as you insert the disc. Burn this and job's right.
    If in doubt, Google it.

I tried this and it seems to work but now I have 99 chapters. Should be 28. Any ideas or settings to change?

the other thing ifoedit can do is change the first play pgc - pre command to (jump tt) jump to title 1. which would leave the menu but cause the dvd to start with the movie.

    Thanks.

I guess I should explain what I am trying to accomplish. I want to remove or make the menu (created by a stand alone) inaccessible even if someone were to push the menu or title button on a remote control. The movie already plays first.

There must be a simple way. I liked the IfoEdit solution but it creates 99 chapters. trying to find a way that only edits or creates ifo's.

I tried a PgcEdit guide, but it did not work. When I run the disc, I just get black and green screens.

Well, I guess DVDShrink would probably be the easiest way to get rid of the menu.

Can some one tell me if Shrink in any way re-encodes (changes picture quality) if the original files already fit on a DVD-5? Or if there are any other drawbacks to using shrink just for this.
