Hi I have MKV that have 2 sub text in stream list. I want to make the sub dissapear when I am using tmpgenc to make dvd. What is the easiest way to do it. When I use latest virtualdubmod it complain about alot of thing and I can't save as the video part to avi and can't select anything other than direct stream. The video has H264 codec (v_mpeg4/iso/avc).

I finally able to use mkvextract to get the h264, ogg, and all subs but when I combine again with mkvmerge seems that the video and audio is not in sync (I suspect one of them has variable bit rate as in the beginning audio is more advance but at the end audio is lagging).

Can anyone suggest how to simply turn off subs for use with tmpgenc? I am rather desperate (have been trying for the past 3hrs). Many thanks!

A lot of programs seem to have a problem correctly identifying the framerate of AVC video streams. When you use mkvmerge you can explicitly set the correct framerate. I suspect that you didn't, and the default is wrong and causing your sync problems.

For the record, variable bitrate in video doesn't affect framerate

Hi again and thanks, I already tried 23.976, 24, 25 and all give unsync video and audio. I am now trying to convert AVC to AVI. However can't we simply edit the mkv container and turn off/delete the subs stream?

If you load it with an avisynth script you won't get subs.

Sorry I solved it just by opening the mkv in mkvmerge and untick the subs. Thanks for listening.
