I have a 6600GT and ever since I've gotten it the overlay video quality has been just awful. Everything looks like it's interlaced, but even when a video is paused the lines still flicker/crawl. I've tried every driver I could find.

I'm running it with a Samsung 213T LCD at 1600 x 1200 and the video looks the same in Zplayer and WMedia.

Any ideas what else I should try?

You may need to check the video overlay settings and also ensure your refresh rate is set to match your display.

Well I don't see many overlay options in the driver. The 213T will only run at 60hz and that's what it is at.

Ok.... I don't know if this helps anyone but I disabled the divx and ffdshow drivers. DivX files still play and the quality is terrible, but it has fixed the shimmering problem. Should I try something besides ffdshow?

Also... I installed the nvidia purevideo drivers and my DVD playback is gorgeous now.

The 213T will run at up to 80hz.

You're absolutely right -- never knew that before. I went from 60 -> 85hz in 5hz increments and it didn't fix the shimmering problem. Is there any other advantages/disadvantages at running at 80hz? I can't see a difference.
