    Hi Guys,

Is it possible to copy or extract to hard drive or get an image files or whatever from a DVD-r
that is coming up Disk error "

It was recorded on a standalone JVC recorder and yes I finalised the disk.

I do have a few peices of software for copying and ripping, but I just wanted to know if anyone
had some experience rescueing the video information from a home made DVD, that was showing disk error.

Any software recomendations will be appreciated, especially if they are the kind of app that doesn't
work from 1 - 99% then decide to give up and spit out a read or write error LOL'

    thanks
    Scott
Why is an intelligent man's vote, worth the same as an idiot's vote in a democratic election system.

It depends on whether the disc will rip without errors. If you rip the disc and the error remains in the rip when you re-burn the data the error will still be present. The key when ripping is to make sure you do not set the ripping software to ignore errors. You want it to make all attempts to read through this error and hopefully not transfer the error to the rip.

Try DVDFab Decrypter - seems to handle/skip errors gracefully. But I don't know what it does with parts that really can't be read.

Exactly. I started using this program for this same reason, and it was awsome, a real life saver.
