  1. I recently used the trial version of ulead4. It worked well for awhile but then burning dvds took longer than before. So uninstalled it and got the version 3.5 suite. Now I can't open avi files to burn them to a dvd.
    Someone help please.......

Did you clear out the working folder from the previous install?

That reminds me...my MF2 install is corrupt and need to re-install. I don't use it much anymore.

I don't think it'd be a matter of "hanging on to...video files" as much as perhaps trying to use the wrong software to try and decode the video.

As hech54 posted, make sure trial install is gone (don't forget to check common files folder). Gspot should tell you what your system has installed that can open the avi files.

"does anyone know why it takes 12 hours to burn an avi that is only 1hour 30 minutes"

Depends on PC hardware, other software & processes running, speed of encoder, number of passes run during encoding, pre/post processing (i.e. resizing etc.). Generally avi is fastest, then mpg2, then mpg4 types, which can take quite a long time.

  8. Ok well that is cool I can live with the longer converting process. Now I have another problem with Ulead saying that my dvd drive is busy with another application when there are no other burning applications running. What can I do to fix this?????
