I've had my main car just over 10 months now but I may swap it again in the summer if I find a better one
the longest I've ever owned a car is probably the one that's been sitting in the garage for at least last 2 years. I've had many cars since learning to drive but I think I've owned it for over 4 years now. It's been sitting in the garage as I won't sell it until I swap the roof as the old one has holes in it, I'm just too lazy to do it![]()

10.5 years, and with no intent to get a different car anytime soon.

Got a 93 pick-up in 97 and it is sitting in my driveway brokedown. 300,000 miles (it ran when I parked it there, but it has sat for a couple of years and I haven't moved it for atleast one year)
Got a 93 Intrepid in 97. 125,000 miles and still on the road. It looks like hell thanks to two different idiots that have hit it in parking lots and one that rear ended me. All minor dings but they add up to really look like hell. The CVs are making some noise but it is sound running for now.
Got an 03 van in 03 that just rolled 100,000 miles on the factory tires, yes, they are looking bald these days, time for some new rubber.IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT? -

Now my old man broke down in Pennsylvania (SP) back in the early sixties and bought an old "Checker". From what I know, or have heard anyways, Checker just made the body and chassie and stuck in whatever drivetrain that they could get or that the customer wanted. I think that my old mans' had an old 50's Caddie engine in it. As the legend goes it got over 300,000 miles with only a couple of shade tree rebuilds. (The milage got higer with every telling)(Checker may not have even made anything, but rather put out specs for others to build to, I am not sure)
Speaking of taxi's (SP), It used to be that you could get a factory taxi package on the big American four doors that had upgrades on some of the components that could help get some extra life out of the car. Tranny coolers, different suspensions, different gearing, better radiators and so forth. But I think that maybe the Crown Vic is the last of the dinosaurs.IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT?
