  1. I'm using Vegas to convert Wav files to AC3, as it gives me the best quality and least amount of problems.

Only issue is, i can only find a way to do it one file at a time, and its becoming very time consumin.

File open wav, wait for it to read the stream(1 min), render the stream as ac3, wait for this (5 mins), close project (if dont and add another file it adds to the file making it 2 files now), then open a new file continue.

What id like to do is just let it know i want all X files rendered as ac3, is there no simple way to do this?

    Thanks!

ffmpeg would allow you to create a batch (.bat) file, as it is commandline driven.

This might be of interest http://www.vasst.com/search.aspx?entity=16&category=Freeware

Script at the top of the page called Trackaliser. You have to put all you audio on their own timeline first. Might be worth a go.

batch rendering is built into vegas two ways ..

one - use the batch render script that comes with it

    or

two - use the network rendering service (this can even run on the same machine) and load it up with projects , and it will do them all

for ac3 rendering - number one is the better ways to go
