  1. I captured a movie from my analog camcorder using ConvertX, then edited it with WinDVD Creator and finally authored it to a DVD. The problem is, there is no audio when playing the disk on my standalone DVD player connected via digital audio (fiber optic line) - I could only hear the music on the menus. When I play it on my computer or another standalone DVD player connected via the RCA cables, all is fine.

I tried to change the settings on WinDVD Creator to Digital Audio output instead of MPEG, but it shows that the file would be too big for the DVD. Even when burning at 2 hr DVD quality.

Anyone know how to fix this?

see if you can output the mpeg audio as pcm in your dvd player. usually under audio settings.

or convert the audio to ac3/dolby digital...i'm not sure if windvd creator supports it.

Thanks - that did it. Don't even know what this setting is, but it's working fine now. One question though; Will this setting degrade normal movies I rent from the video store? That is, should I change the setting back when I'm viewing any movie other than the ones I can't hear with the first setting?
