I have:
a Conpous ADVC55
a JVC HR 9600EK and JVC HR-S6955EK

I am trying to convert s-video from from the 9600 via the ADVC55 to DV.

So far I have not been succussful. Even after many weeks of fruitless discussions with various Tech support orgs,.. I have not yet managed to convert a single tape.
All credit to Canopus UK tech support who have even replaced the unit,.. but still no video conversion succuss.

I have tried various s-video sources, 2 x JVC, laptop. and no succuss.

Until I tried my DVD player,.. and that works fine, great piture quality,.. but I don't need to convert DVDs.

The problem with my attempts to convert video is that the image appears "contrasty", washed out so to say,.. with loss of sync,... as some of the image appears to wrap to the top of the view.

I have seen post that the input amps on the 55 are not very tolerant of certain signals. I cannot belive JVC have a problem,.. so assuming the problem is with th 55, how do I shift or something the levels to get things back on track, or sync so to say.

Is there some gismo box or electronics I can use to "correct" the Signal levles,.. Give me a circuit diagram I'll build it.

I might know electronics,... but I am no a video expert,.. so anyone in the know,.. pls help,, I need it!!! :-)
