I have a few thousand photos I would like to scan and make into DVD slideshows.
I have the software to make the slideshows, but can I get some input as to which scanner I should get.
Also what is the recommended setting I should scan at to get a good quality DVD show.

Can't give you a reccomendation on a specific model but if you're going to be scanning thosands of images I'd look for one with a auto feed.

As far as setting the DPI for a DVD slideshow even the lowest setting should be adequate. Having said that I'd scan at 600DPI for 6x4 images for archiving, if you're going to go through the trouble of scanning them you might as well get high quality images for other uses. The only way I'd go lower is if you have no need for the scans after your done with the video, the lower setting will speed things up.

Once you get them all scanned you can use a batch resizing program to get copies to a more mangeable and video friendly size.
