I would like to purchase a new scanner. My main use of this scanner will be to scan pictures for slideshows. I use Windows XP Pro & ProShow Gold.
I currently use an HP 4670. I usually scan 75-100 pics per show. The HP 4670 has become very slow in warm up time for each picture.
I am looking for SPEED. I need to be able to get though a stack of photos Quickly.
Quality is mainly for Slideshow quality.
Please help me with suggestions.
Thanks!

I have the Canon CanoScan 8800F. I purchased it from NewEgg. Here is the link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16838111015&Tpk=8800f
Scanning speed is very good. Whenever I scan photos, I put as many on the platen and do a multiscan.

Consider something with an auto-feeder that DOES NOT curve the paper around a bend of some kind. It would suck it straight through, and then push it out again.
Speed is all relative. I've been using scanners since 1992. Most all scanners are "fast" now, but it's all relatively. Speed has to be sacrificed for quality, but luckily a DVD slideshow doesn't need much quality anyway, being a max of 720x480.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

I 2nd the Canon. I use three of them in the shop. The Epson are excellent as well, but scan preview is faster with the Canon. In scanner restoration is pretty reliable with the Canon as well.
My 2cents.
